I had such a great experience mentoring Eugene. I remember I went to his cell phone store to get a hotspot, and man, he was looking like he was ready to get up out of there lol. Shortly after, we had a conversation about transferring his current skills into an IT career and the steps he needed to take to make it happen. From there, he allowed me to coach him up every step of the way until he finally got the job offer.
Eugene was working 2 IT jobs making over 100K, but the second gig was a 6-month contract that came to an end, and he is currently working for a major financial services company as a Tier-2 IT Support Analyst. Eugene decided he would not pursue Cybersecurity and that it was better for his career to stay on the IT side of the house, and I fully support that. Good luck with your career Eugene and thanks for allowing me to mentor you!
